L = Lemonade

Perfect Lemonade Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar (can reduce to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup water (for the simple syrup)
  • 1 cup lemon juice
  • 3 to 4 cups cold water (to dilute)

Method

1 Make simple syrup by heating the sugar and water in a small saucepan until the sugar is dissolved completely.
2 While the sugar is dissolving, use a juicer to extract the juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough for one cup of juice.
3 Add the juice and the sugar water to a pitcher. Add 3 to 4 cups of cold water, more or less to the desired strength. Refrigerate 30 to 40 minutes. If the lemonade is a little sweet for your taste, add a little more straight lemon juice to it.
Serve with ice, sliced lemons.

This is such a simple recipe, but it has so much importance. Just think of all of the people who drinks lemonade. Its a symbol of summer time. Some of my best memories of summer revolve around a cold glass of lemonade. My family, friends, and I sitting on the deck in lawn chairs. We are all talking and laughing and sipping sweet lemonade. All of our dogs are running in the yard. Jumping and chasing each other, barking at the sigh of birds in the trees. Or even just simply sitting out by the pool on a quiet day, sipping from a glass thats full with fresh lemonade. Listening to the peaceful sound of the breeze against the trees. This is when I am alone, but do not feel that lonely.  Also the memories of the barn during the summer. I remember how at the end of the day, when I was done with working and ridding, my trainer would offer me a crisp glass of lemonade. The taste of this drink is so refreshing it makes your taste buds jump for joy. Such a god beak from drinking plane, dull water all day. The taste of lemonade on a hot day that was filled with work is priceless. Getting to taste the sweet but also sour taste is like an award for working hard, even though you may not have wanted to. That simple glass of lemonade is saying that someone appreciates the work that you are doing. Yes, lemonade is such a simple recipe, but it has so much importance.

Famous Poem Starters

But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep
Although I should close my eyes and try not to weep
You see the promises I have broke before I will never forget
But I guarantee I will always regret
The way your face turned pale and you eyes swelled up with tears
To see you again like that is now one of my fears
I should try to go to sleep
But now it is to late, I have started to weep
At first I didn't understand how you felt inside
And now I understand and all I want to do is hide
Hide from you, hide from myself, just hide from everyone

But I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep
No, this is not time to weep
I will forget
And I won't reget
Now I will close my eyes and go to sleep

Nursery Rhymes ARE Relevant to Life

What did I dream?

What did I dream?

I do not know;
The fragments fly like chaff.
Yet strange my mind
Was tickled so,
I cannot help but laugh.

http://www-personal.umich.edu/~pfa/dreamhouse/nursery/rhymes/dream.html

This nursery rhyme is relevant to my life because I have woken up from my dream and feel like laughing, but I can't remember what my dream was about. I cant even begin to count how many times this has happened. I will lay in my bed trying so hard to remember what my dream was about, but no matter how hard I try I can't remember. Obviously it was a good dream because if it was not I would not feel the urge to laugh.  I am waiting for the day when I randomly remember a dream that I was trying to call back into my mind. I feel like the dream that I remember are the ones that have no importance. They are the ones that are nothing special, but the ones that are special and different and worth remembering...I don't. Why and h ow my brain chooses to remember the boring dreams and not the interesting ones, I will never know.

Joe Quijano

Joe Quijano is a blogger who has a great sense of humor. He is "firmly in his 30's" and he is able to enjoy a video of a remake of the song "We Are Young," instead of the initial message of the song about feeling young it is switched and tells how people feel when they get older. Joe Quijano thinks that this video is "hilarious and deserves a watch during your lunch break." Joe Quijano is not a fan about blogging about himself. The most challenging blog post that he had to write is "the one where I write about myself." He can believe that he "has been blogging for seven years now. He "moved to Albany in the fall of 2004 for graduate school and just fell in love with the area," He loves living in Albany because of "all the things the capital region has to offer and all of the friends," that he would "not trade it for anything." Joe Quijano is a very opinionated person. His friends say that his opinions are "always honest, straight forward, and as far as I'm concerned, right." He uses his opinions to help inspire his blogs. He is anxious to see what "inevitable debates his posts will spark."

A subtle gift to nature

The Earth sings when she trots on it
I fly like a hawk when I ride her
Her hoofs are more musical than a harp played by angels
She takes me away from all of my fears, and
Into the sunset or a open field
Together we race the wind
We face new speeds every second
Her mane is there to wipe away all of my tears
She takes me to happiness and away from enemies
The gentile swish of her tail
Is the most calming sight
The horse is a mighty and gentile creature
So carefully sculpted and crafted
A subtle gift from nature

Is there a God?

"Is there a God?" Many people ask this question. They say "if there is a God, then why do I have such problems in my life?" I believe that there is a God. I believe that God created us all and has blessed us with life. I really have never thought about God as much as this year. The reason for this is this year I have made a very close friend. He is a big follower of God, and he has taught me about God. I believe that there is a God because how could anyone just make that up? No one would have that kind of imagination so long ago that they could imagine a person hanging on a cross and then coming back to life. God helps guide us through life.
